Summer Fun 2010

Ethan took one week to start balancing on this bike (no pedals/no training wheels). I now have to keep up with him by riding my own bike.

Eating smores at the annual Father & Sons camping trip.

This is Hopper, a red back salamander (Plethodon cinereus) that we found under a log in our back-yard. He'd "hop" really fast from our hands to our clothes.

This is how you play t-ball.

Chill-laxin' in the back of the car with a juice-box. No, it doesn't get any better.

The master at work.

This is at an art festival in Cleveland. Ethan made this spider hat.

Both boys are seasoned travelers.

Ethan's fish that he caught on his first trip fishing. He considered it a pet, and did not like the idea of eating it.

Seth sharing a popcicle with Sam.

Ethan's 4th B-day

The kids with silly-string pretending to be shooting "spider-webs".

A good friend of ours made this cake for us. She is really awesome. She also helped us with the cookies below.

Ethan feeding one of the birds at the Cleveland Zoo.

This is Seth's favorite thing to do with the new cat. He thinks the cat is his own personal "hug-and-smother-pillow".

This cat is really great with the boys. We got him from the Cleveland Animal Protection League (the pound) about a month ago. The cat doesn't scratch or bite the boys, and doesn't run away from them, even after attacks from Seth as shown above.

Cathy's 1st Photo Shop

Ethan using his Spider-man powers to web-sling around Cleveland.

This is Cathy's first photo-shopping experience. We used this picture for Ethan's birthday invitations.

Ethan...or a Super Villain Named Batman-Venom

One of Ethan's current pretend names is A Super Villain Named Batman-Venom. While walking past a group of people at the zoo, Ethan turned to Cathy and said, "Mom, those people are superheroes." He continued to glare at them as they passed, and then Ethan said, "Wait!" to Cathy. He then reached down to his hip, pretended to remove some "Sleeping Bombs" from his "utility belt" and then he threw them at the "superheroes", all while providing sound effects of bombs flying through the air and exploding. As the "superheroes" continued walking (oblivious to the fact they had just been attacked by Super Villain Batman-Venom) Ethan said, "Ugh!! They got away!".

Seth and the Good-night Book

Winter Wonderland

Snow-shoeing!!

Ethan refused to wear the "bear-feet". This is out at Penitentiary Glen in Kirtland, Ohio. We saw deer tracks, rabbit tracks, coyote tracks, and one dead mouse.

This is honestly what Ethan wanted to do.

A little snow-cave in our front yard. A worm crawled out of the ground as I was hollowing it out; it became the snow-cave guardian.
